Ashtary and Egherman have been living in Iran for three years and this book is the result of those years, in which they worked, visited families, took part in rituals of life and death and walked in the mountains outside Tehran. They bring a unique perspective to a complicated country and accompany their photographs with some moving essays depicting the strong emotions evoked by life in Iran.
